Home - Journeys - Netherland, Arcen 2025 - Staying at Maasparel Hotel & Restaurant
Maasparel Hotel and Restaurant is located on the main street, if you can call it that, of
Arcen, about 50 meters from the market square.
The hotel may seem small, but right next to it is a large terrace, ample parking, two
bicycle sheds, and there are also rooms behind the hotel, next to the beautiful garden.
The hotel has several more rooms across the street, and possibly further down the street as
well, but we don't know.
The decor upon entering is modest.
The reception area is small, just enough space for two people, but more is not necessary.
Everything looks neat, but a bit dull, with mainly brown/beige tones.
After checking in, from 3:00 PM onwards or if the room has already been cleaned, we take
our luggage to our room, which in our case is on the first floor.
There is no elevator, and the stairs are steep, but we get used to that after a day.
Because the hotel is located in an old building, there are wooden floors, which can cause
some noise.
Fortunately, this is not a hotel for small children, so the noise is limited.
There are 29 rooms in total.
Our room is small, 15 m², but we knew that beforehand.
Everything we need is there: two single beds, two bedside tables, a dressing table, two
chairs, a TV, air conditioning, a safe, storage space, and a small refrigerator.
Storing our suitcases requires some trial and error, but we can fit everything in without it
getting in the way.
And of course, a smoke detector.
The floor is clean carpeted, and the entire room is clean and well-maintained.
There is a window that can be opened, including one in the bathroom.
The room door opens with a key card.
The bathroom, of course, has a toilet and a shower with plenty of hot water.
There are four towels, which can be changed daily if desired.
Bath foam and shampoo are available in dispensers.
The hotel also has ample parking, two bicycle sheds that are locked at night, a restaurant
with a large outdoor terrace, and two indoor dining rooms.
The breakfast buffet is excellent and served in a room overlooking a beautiful garden.
The coffee is also excellent.
The staff we encountered were friendly, helpful, prompt, and attentive.
We were here on op Friday, August 22, 2025, op Saturday, August 23, 2025, op Sunday, August 24, 2025 en op Monday, August 24, 2025.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
